TRAMIN
Cantina Tramin, the true home of Gewürztraminer, was established in 1898 in the Trentino Alto Adige region.
It began as a small project, initiated by Christian Schrott, a priest from Termeno and a member of the Austrian Parliament.
His aim was simple but vital: to provide a future and sustenance for mountain winegrowers.
Thanks to the strength of this union, Cantina Tramin grew over time and became one of the most renowned cooperative wineries in the region, gaining international recognition.
In 1971, Tramin merged with the historic Cantina Sociale of Egna, founded in 1893.
This merger united traditions and vineyards, including prestigious sites like Mazzon and Glen, renowned for Pinot Nero.
A major shift towards quality began in the 1990s with the arrival of winemaker Willi Stürz. He launched the Selezione project, which now includes iconic wines like Nussbaumer, Terminum, Stoan, Maglen, Urban, and Loam.
Each bottle reflects careful vineyard selection and the highest expression of Tramin’s expertise.
Today, every decision made at Cantina Tramin follows one simple principle: working together to create wines that are a true, harmonious expression of the land.
Pinot Bianco
Also known as Pinot Blanc, this white grape variety is celebrated for its elegance and versatility.
It is believed to be a natural mutation of Pinot Noir and is cultivated in several wine regions around the world.
The wines typically display a pale straw yellow colour.
On the nose, they offer delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and green apples, often accompanied by subtle hints of almond or honey. On the palate, Pinot Bianco is known for its crisp acidity and refreshing character.
It has a medium body and a smooth texture, with flavours of fresh apple, pear, and a touch of minerality.
Its lively acidity provides balance and structure, keeping the wine vibrant and easy to enjoy.
Thanks to its versatility, Pinot Bianco pairs well with a wide range of dishes. It complements seafood, salads, poultry, and light pasta recipes, as well as soft and mild cheeses.
Its approachable style and food-friendly nature make it a popular choice among wine lovers.
