VINI LA TORRETTA

A small winery born from the passion of Fulvio Rapanà and the talent of Massimo Tripaldi, with a total production of around 25,000 bottles, low yields of 22/25 quintals per hectar and very old bush vines (some over 80 years old), La Torretta is based in the southern part of Puglia, in the Manduria area, where Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes found the best conditions

Negroamaro

A red wine that grows in abundance in Puglia but almost nowhere else; producing wines with rich black fruit flavors with a distinct finish of dried herbs. It’s believed the name Negroamaro, derives from the Latin and Greek words “Niger” and “Mavros” both of which mean “black” referring to the dark colour of the berries.
The grape is a dark-skinned tend to show a deep ruby-red color in youth, graduating to richer, darker red after a couple of years. Its aromatics are elegant, and young Negromaro typically displays notes of fresh red cherry, forest fruits, liquorice and tobacco.
With some age, the wines take on other aromas like dried prunes, black pepper and some herbal and botanical notes. On the palate, Negroamaro can take on an earthy character, with some spice and occasionally a chunky tannic finish.
