Greco del Sannio DOC 2018 – Rossovermiglio

£19.20

Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, it opens with elegant aromas of hawthorn, jasmine, and ripe orchard fruits, especially apricot and yellow apple. Subtle notes of almond add complexity. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with refreshing acidity balanced by a soft, round texture. Hints of lemon zest and white peach lead into a long, savoury finish with a gentle almond note.
This wine is beautifully versatile at the table. It pairs gracefully with white pizza, seafood, white meats infused with herbs, and even light legume dishes such as cannellini beans with mussels.

Greco del Sannio DOC, Why we love it and why you’ll love it too!

Greco del Sannio is the kind of wine that surprises you with every sip. It’s floral and fresh at first, then unfolds into layers of ripe apricot, lemon zest, and almond. We love how it keeps its elegance while being full of character.
Perfect for a summer lunch, a seafood dinner, or simply as your go-to glass when you want something vibrant and authentic. It’s a wine with roots—made to remind you why Campania is one of Italy’s hidden treasures in white winemaking.
You’ll love it because it brings the Mediterranean to your table—sunshine in a bottle, with just the right twist of freshness.

Rossovermiglio

Rossovermiglio is a story of family, ideas, and deep passion. The winery was born from a centuries-old winemaking tradition in Paduli, in the Samnite heart of Campania.
As early as the 1800s, the Verlingieri family was growing high-quality red grapes and producing wine, which they sold in their cellar located in the historic center of Paduli. This legacy has been passed down through generations. Since 1988, Piero Verlingieri has led the company. Just a few years later, in 1992, he began replanting vineyards—this time favouring white grapes over the reds of family tradition. The name Rossovermiglio remains a tribute to the family’s roots and evolution.

Greco

Greco is one of Southern Italy’s noblest white grape varieties, right alongside Fiano and Falanghina. It’s a challenging grape to grow: it ripens late, yields low quantities, and is sensitive to diseases like grey rot. It also oxidises easily, making it tricky to handle in the cellar.
Despite these difficulties, Greco remains one of Italy’s most iconic white grapes. You can recognise it by its bright yellow berries, lightly speckled with brown dots.
Greco wines are fresh and vibrant when young, but they also have excellent aging potential. With time, they gain complexity without losing their natural elegance.
