Falanghina Sparkling “Frenesia” Brut NV – Rossovermiglio

£18.20

Lemon-yellow in colour with greenish highlights. The perlage is fine and persistent.
On the nose, it’s elegant, intense, and layered, offering aromas of white flowers, fresh fruit, and delicate mineral notes. The lively bubbles bring a refreshing, savoury character to the palate. It’s well-structured, with bright acidity, good persistence, and a smooth, balanced finish.

Perfect as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, seafood risottos, and pasta with shellfish. It’s an excellent match for grilled fish and lightly fried crustaceans served with delicate sauces.

Falanghina Sparkling "Frenesia", Why we love it and why you’ll love it too!

If you’re after sparkle with soul, this one’s for you.
Falanghina Sparkling “Frenesia” it’s a feeling! That first sip is a rush of brightness: think zesty lemon zest, white peach, and wildflowers in full bloom. It fizzes with energy, but stays elegant and refined.
We opened this on a Tuesday and instantly felt like we were celebrating something.
The bubbles are fine and persistent, the finish is dry but generous, and the Falanghina grape really shines with its signature freshness and charm.

This is the bottle you’ll reach for when friends show up unannounced, when you need to make a toast, or just because the pasta is done and you’re in a good mood!

Rossovermiglio

Rossovermiglio is a story of family, ideas, and deep passion. The winery was born from a centuries-old winemaking tradition in Paduli, in the Samnite heart of Campania.
As early as the 1800s, the Verlingieri family was growing high-quality red grapes and producing wine, which they sold in their cellar located in the historic center of Paduli. This legacy has been passed down through generations. Since 1988, Piero Verlingieri has led the company. Just a few years later, in 1992, he began replanting vineyards—this time favouring white grapes over the reds of family tradition. The name Rossovermiglio remains a tribute to the family’s roots and evolution.

Today, Piero and his wife Maria Teresa are the custodians of this long-standing heritage. For them, making great wine means following strict vineyard and cellar practices, always in respect of the local traditions and the land itself.
Rossovermiglio works exclusively with native Campanian grape varieties; a deliberate choice to preserve and promote the unique identity of some of Italy’s most fascinating vines.

Falanghina

Falanghina is an ancient white grape thought to descend from Greek-Balkan origins. Its name comes from “falanga,” the traditional stake used to support the vine.
Once nearly abandoned, Falanghina survived the phylloxera epidemic and eventually experienced a true renaissance. Today, it is widely grown across Southern Italy and recognised for its quality.
This grape produces fresh, expressive wines with bright white fruit aromas, often enriched by subtle, bready notes from lees ageing. Styles range from crisp, easy-drinking versions to more complex, mineral-driven wines with impressive ageing potential. With time, Falanghina can even develop petrol-like notes, similar to aged Riesling.
