Ribolla Gialla “Benedete” IGT 2023 – Collavini

£18.80

Benedete shows a bright straw yellow colour with subtle green reflections.
On the nose, it opens with fresh and elegant aromas of lemongrass and pink grapefruit. These citrusy notes are lifted by hints of white flowers.
On the palate, it’s clean and smooth. A soft texture leads to a lively, mineral-driven finish. The balance is spot on, with just the right touch of richness to round out the freshness.
It’s a wine that’s easy to enjoy but far from simple. Refined, vibrant, and unmistakably Ribolla!

RIBOLLA GIALLA "BENEDETE", Why we love it and why you’ll love it too!

We love wines that speak of place, and Ribolla Gialla “Benedete” does just that.
This wine is like a stroll through the Friulian hills in spring: crisp, fragrant, and quietly refined. With its aromas of lemongrass and grapefruit, it brings freshness to the table without ever shouting for attention.
We opened it with a seafood stew and were amazed at how it lifted the whole meal. But it’s just as good with nothing more than some grilled vegetables or a moment to unwind. It’s Eugenio Collavini at their most delicate and thoughtful — and that’s saying something.

Eugenio Collavini

For Collavini, wine is a family tradition — rooted in passion, love for the land, and an unending pursuit of quality.
Luigi and Giovanni, guided by the wisdom of Manlio, craft wines that express the gentle hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Their story has reached far beyond Italy, winning over international markets that value authenticity, terroir, and elegance in every bottle.

Ribolla Gialla

It is an ancient white grape variety from northern Italy, near the Slovenian border. It’s rarely found outside this area.
When vinified in the traditional white wine style, Ribolla Gialla produces dry, crisp wines with delicate floral aromas, citrus, and notes of peach. These wines are usually light-bodied and refreshing, with lively acidity.

However, the grape has thick skins. This makes it ideal for skin-contact wines and aging in large oak casks. When made this way, Ribolla Gialla reveals more complexity — with flavours of dried apricot, honeyed nuts, and a distinctive mineral edge.

In the 13th century, it was considered one of Italy’s finest white wines. It was a regular feature on the dining tables of Venetian nobility — a sign of both refinement and regional pride.
