Coda di Volpe “Cerere” Sannio DOC 2023 – Ocone

£18.90

A brilliant golden lemon colour introduces this elegant and expressive Coda di Volpe. On the nose, it opens with delicate floral notes of hawthorn, followed by ripe white fruits like pear and melon. A subtle touch of sweet spice completes the aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is soft, and rounded—true to the grape’s generous nature. The low acidity enhances the smooth texture while flavours of dried fruit and almond linger in the long, refined finish. It’s a white wine with presence and poise.
Perfect pairing with light seafood starters, white meats, soups, and vegetable-based fish dishes.

Coda di Volpe "Cerere", why we love it and why you'll love it too!

From the first pour, its golden hue hints at warmth and generosity. Coda di Volpe “Cerere” is named after the Roman goddess of agriculture, and fittingly so—this wine feels rooted in the land, crafted with care.
The nose is soft and graceful: think of wildflowers on a warm breeze and ripe orchard fruit picked at its peak. As you sip, it unfolds slowly—round, velvety, and gently spiced. The almond finish lingers, leaving a sense of calm satisfaction.
This isn’t a wine that demands attention. Instead, it draws you in, glass after glass. Pair it with seafood, a creamy risotto, or simply enjoy it with someone who knows how to savour the little things. It might just become your new favourite white.

Ocone

Nestled in the unspoiled heart of the Taburno, Ocone winery grows its vineyards with a deep respect for nature and innovation.
The estate stretches across a unique area framed by the Taburno massif, the Matese mountains, and the easternmost ridge of the Apennines. Soils are mostly alluvial, rich in stones and minerals. White grapes like Falanghina thrive in the clay-rich parcels, while red grapes like Aglianico grow on limestone-rich soils.

Today, the winery is driven by a team of young professionals with a shared goal: combining innovation and quality while preserving the legacy of their land.
Since October 2019, Ocone has taken bold steps towards sustainability. Water use is carefully managed, biological treatment systems are in place, and renewable energy powers the winery. From materials to architectural choices, every detail is designed with the planet in mind.
The result? Wines that reflect both the roots of tradition and the spirit of modernity.

Coda di Volpe

Coda di Volpe is one of Campania’s oldest white grape varieties. Its name, meaning “fox’s tail,” comes from the shape of its long, tapered grape clusters.
This generous grape produces elegant, round wines with floral and ripe fruit aromas, often layered with hints of herbs and sweet spices. On the palate, it’s soft and full, with gentle acidity and a pleasant, slightly almond-like finish.
A perfect choice for those who love smooth, well-balanced white wines with a unique personality.
